UCI VSO Mentorship Program

Our goal with this program is to help student veterans assimilate back into the academic environment by providing them with a faculty or staff mentor that can help guide them along this process. This program can also help the student establish a personal connection in the university. 

How to Become a Mentor

Mentor's Responsibilites

The mentor’s role would be to meet up with their mentee at least once a quarter, and answer any questions the mentee might have. Mentors can also provide them with guidance on how to successfully assimilate back into a civilian academic lifestyle. Multiple meet ups are highly encouraged, but this will be completely at the mentor and mentee’s discretions. At this time mentors must be UCI faculty or staff members.

For Students that want a Mentor

Your Role

The mentee’s role would be meet up with their mentor at least once a quarter. Feel free to ask any questions that you may have on about this school, your classes, or even for general advice on how to transition back into the civilian lifestyle. Multiple meet ups are highly encouraged but that will be completely up to you and your mentor.
